Sensory rest

This meditation is for when you need a moment to rest your senses.

When our days are filled with bright lights, and constant noise, this overstimulation can cause us stress and overwhelm. 

Let’s take a moment to give our senses some rest. 

Let’s find a quiet place now, and close down the eyes. 

This mediation will focus just on stillness and the breath to quieten down the senses. 

Let’s take some deep and nourishing breaths in and out. 

Continue breathing deeply

Feel the body softening - the legs, the hips, the back, the shoulders, the neck, the jaw, and the face all softening. 

Notice any tension in the mind releasing at each out breath

Notice the rhythm of your body as you breathe in and out  

You might like to let out a sigh at your next exhale, to melt further into the breath

Notice how good it feels in this moment to rest. Even in a short time you’ve been able to replenish energy. 

Now enjoy some quiet and stillness for as long as you like.

And come back to this moment whenever you need a sensory break.
